This is really a good idea to build on.
I mean, in my opinion, the next step is to go deeper in striking mechanism and complexity like direction. 

I am not sure though if player rotation is envolved as I was also using the right stick assuming it affects anything but if it is not then thats another way. 


Good job for the idea.

I uploaded a new build based on a newer version of the game engine. It should have a better support for gamepads. However the problem you're describing seems to be related to (very) low framerate. I hope this new version helps, but I'm not sure how to fix that if it doesn't.
